This is my first large house: The Girl’s Boarding School
Made from a 5303 Dollhouse, it has four floors with 6 rooms. After entering the house, you have to wait in the little green salon which includes a modern telephone. The kitchen is very well equipped in order to supply as well the girls as the employees. The dining room on the second floor is a little bit too sumptuous for the purpose of the institution, but also shows that fine furnishings were an obvious component of noble mansions in this time. The classroom is furnished expedient. In this time it was a privilege for girls to receive a high-quality education. Most of these girls later became teachers or gouvernesses themselves. The garret contains an unpretentious dormitary, whereas the bathroom is very modern for the time. A bathing oven, flowing water and a water closet were not self-evident.
This is not my favourite type of house. In contrast to the 5300 it looks cheap, unstable and not very attractive. I changed the colour from a light rose to an apricot, added the white pillars and ornaments of the windows. I think it will represent an alternate house style between all those similar 5300 houses of my Victorian avenue but I will not create another one of this.
