When Playmobil started producing the „1900“-Series, I was 13 years old. At that time I would have liked to own all the sets – at once. But to make a wish in the value of hundreds of pounds was not really possible. So after my first euphoria my dream fell into oblivion.
March 2014 – 25 years later. Playmobil celebrates its 40th anniversary. A little conversation with another Playmobil fan calls my dream in remembrance. For me it’s clear: I want to have all those Victorian sets, of course in original packing. Fortunately during my research I find out that there are much more crazy people than me. They are collecting Playmobil in original packings and MISB (mint in sealed box)… and so I acquired sets which have not been opened since 25 years.
And there was another thing, I had never heard of before: Customised Playmobil. Houses, furniture and figures – perfectly new coloured and decorated. After visiting EmmaJ, my favourite customiser, it was clear for me: I want to do that, too!
February 2015 – one year later. I am a proud owner of all Victorian sets ever produced by Playmobil. Most of them in original package or even mint in sealed box.
Moreover I got the houses 5300, 5305, 5955 and 5301. Besides I’m looking forward to customising sixteen other rebuilt houses including interior fittings. Together they will line a large Victorian street.
It is never to late to fulfill one’s dreams!
So I’m happy about everyone who likes to take part in my journey into another world, the Victorian Era of Playmobil!
